Today is Giving Tuesday! East Carolina University is participating in this global day of charitable giving, and we need your help to show that #PirateNationGives!

Following the kick-off of holiday season spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday encourages people to give to non-profit organizations of their choice.

All members of the East Carolina community – including students, parents, alumni, staff, faculty, and fans – are encouraged to donate online to ECU today at www.ecu.edu/piratenationgives.

Participants can show their support on social media using the hashtag #PirateNationGives. The more people that participate, the more we can raise in a single day!

Your contributions will support scholarships, research, athletics, the arts, teaching resources, learning experiences for students, and much more. You can give to any area of the university you choose, and gifts may be in any amount. If you’ve never given to ECU before, this is a great day to start!

Dr_Jerry_McGee_Challenge-002_1This year, your gift can have double the impact, thanks to a challenge from ECU alumnus Dr. Jerry McGee ’66. If you to make a first-time donation of $100 or increase your last gift by $100, he will give an additional $100 to ECU, up to $25,000.

This is the second year that ECU is participating in Giving Tuesday. Last year, ECU received 132 gifts totaling $67,248.

This year, our goal is $75,000, and you can help us reach it! Every day is a great day to be a Pirate, but today is the perfect day to show your support. At ECU, tomorrow starts here. Tomorrow will be even brighter when #PirateNationGives!
